About the Taking Root Summer Screening Series
Throughout the summer, join us in commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Wars in Southeast Asia at our Summer Screening Series of our community-produced and award-winning Taking Root documentary series. Tickets for each screening will be donated to VietLead, who is continuing our ancestral legacy of community refuge, resilience, and resistance by building working class Vietnamese and Southeast Asian leadership in Philadelphia.
We’ll be hosting #SEA50 fundraising screenings throughout the Philly neighborhoods where our communities were resettled in. We’re also excited to soon announce our partners who will host additional screenings throughout the summer!

50 years ago, Southeast Asian refugee communities began being resettled throughout Philadelphia in West Philly, South Philly, and North Philly. To honor our refugee roots in these Black & brown neighborhoods, we’ll be hosting #SEA50 fundraising screenings throughout the city.
We are currently searching for individuals, organizations, and collectives to partner with us and host more ticketed screenings of Taking Root through the Summer Screening Series! Please fill out the form, and we will reach out to you to discuss more!
